Post subject: My Three Pups

Hi, my name is Jerry, and Petco and the Broward, FL, Humane Society are my crack dealers,

My wife got Oliver, our terrier mix, 12 years ago when he was about 3 yrs. He had been abused during those years, so it took alot of loving to get him to trust humans again. He's a sweet dog, but he'll let you know if there is someone at the door or on the patio. This is interesting, he barks when someone comes to the door ONLY if there is someone at the house, if there's no one in the house, he doesn't bark.

Fast forward to October, 2007. We had discussed getting another dog, because Ollie was almost 15, and our daughter was attached to him. We wanted a "transition" dog for when Ollie does pass on. We thought of Labs and Goldens, but, we wanted a dog 2-4 yrs old, not puppies. Now, I wasn't against pupies, my WIFE was against it!! So, I used to work during the night, so, I normally sleep until the fam gets home. I was surprised to be woken up with "We have another addition to the family." I went out to the car, where I saw our daughter Jamie holding a 12 wk old Lab-Mix puppy! My wife told me not to kill her, I told her that I wasn't the one that was against puppies!! My wife and Jamie went to Petco to get Ollie some food, and stopped by the Broward Humane Society's booth in the store, and wanted to look at what they had for rescues. They saw this cute little Lab-Mix puppy! My wife said that she just couldn't go home without her, and Jamie wasn't helping either, LOL! She was very cute, and we named her Olivia to go with Oliver. She's 8 mos now, and she's sweet and VERY affectionate! Not exactly sure what she's mixed with, we've heard Lab, Rhodisian Ridgeback, and Pit Bull. What I think is, Lab body, Rhodisian Ridgeback head and Put Bull ears. Her temperment is like a Lab, very easy going!!

Now, it's December, 2007, and poor Ollie is getting a beaten from the puppy! He just can't play like he used to! We were thinking of getting another dog, just to take the heat off of him. My wife went to Petco to get food for Olivia, and she passed by the Broward Humane Society's booth and saw more puppies, see a pattern here? She called me up to bring Jamie, and for us to come and see the puppies. She told me of 6 Black Lab puppies, so I wanted to go and see them. Well, when we got there, my wife had this little grey and black 6 wk old puffball! She was so cute, I almost forgot to look at the Lab puppies!!! So, I went home, and got Olivia to see if they would be ok with each other. They started to play, so it was settled! The Society stated that she was an Australian Cattle Dog-Mix, but, she didn't have the head and ears of the breed. We did more searching, and after talking to people at the dog park, come to the conclusion that her head comes from the Australian Shepherd, and her body from the neck back is of a Blue Merle Australian Cattle Dog. She is a VERY ACTIVE puppy!! Found out that both Aussie breeds are very high energetic breeds, so, after she got her shots, she has to go a couple times a week to the dog park to run off this energy! Was thinking of doing herding or agility courses with her to channel her active personality. She's 5 mos now, and she's very fun to be with , and she and Olivia are VERY close!! They play all the time!!

Two times every week, I take the girls to the local dog park to have a little fun and to socialize with other dogs and people. Olivia doesn't know her size sometimes, when she was 16 wks old, she was romping with a Great Dane!! Stormie has some friends of her own, she has been close with a couple of Australian Shepherds, they're showing her how to prefect her herding skills, LOL! Since Ollie was never socialized very well, and the fact that he is 15 yrs old, he doesn't go to the dog park.

Here are my three pups:
